- Two days of site investigations across the property, including overnight species monitoring in the field.
- Liaison with property owners, council and other consultants to ensure a successful DA process.
- GIS mapping of potential Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Sites.
- Stewardship site modelling, used to gauge how much a Biodiversity Stewardship Site may offse the cost of development.
Sydney Ports Corporation’s Port Botany Expansion
project
Sydney Ports Corporation’s Port Botany Expansion project won the Australian Construction Achievement Award. As part of Dragonfly Environmental we rehabilitation the Penrhyn Estuary to create expanded saltmarsh and a functioning estuarine environment.
Biodiversity Development Assessment Report
A comprehensive Biodiversity Assessment Report (BDAR) for a Senior Living Complex in Western Sydney. The project involved several consultants (bushfire, heritage, environmental, storm water, engineering) and was of a highly technical nature due to the position of the site. It involved a waterway with a listed Endangered Ecological Community and multiple threatened species. Kingfisher successfully delivered the BDAR while also providing ecological advice throughout the project concept and design stage. Several nights of field studies were undertaken with liaison with adjacent landowners also required. Kingfisher also delivered species monitring reports and the VMP for the site. Displaying decidicated and ongoing environmental management.

Biodiversity Assessment Report (BDAR) for a house situated on a bush block in the Blue mountains. Clients satisfied with the detail of the BDAR conducted by Kingfisher. Several modeling scenarios ran through the BAM process as design altered throughout

Ecological Consideration of the Masterplan for Wentworth Point Sydney
Kingfisher provided Ecological Considerations of the Masterplan for a development within a high growth area of Sydney. Threatened Ecological Communities and Threatened species were considered and Kingfisher worked with several stakeholders to achieve a positive outcome for the environment and the community.
Ecological Recommendations for Sydney Water
Kingfisher proposed site management recommendations for Sydney water to assist in improving the ecological function and value of Sydney Water sites.

Construction Environmental Management Plan Sediment Management Tarban Creek
Kingfisher successfully provided recommendations and a subsequent Construction and Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) to protect a colony of Grey Headed Flying Fox, which is a threated species in NSW. Council successfully implemented the plan and positive outcomes for the environment and the broader community were achieved.
Ecology and Landscape Plan Mersey Road Bringelly
Kingfisher was engaged by the client in the project planning stage to ensure development would not result in the loss of current ecological features at the site. Following site investigations, Kingfisher was able provide detailed advice along with an Ecology and Landscape Plan to the proponent for consideration. Kingfisher continued to work with the proponent and other consultants to deliver a successful project.
Balance Lands Mt Gilead, NSW.
The Riparian Lands Plan was written in two stage providing proposed riparian locations and widths including the inner 50% and second 50%; and any riparian areas that do or may need to be off-set. This report enables input from NSW Office of Water (DPI Water) to consider the proposed riparian areas and what does / doesn’t require offsetting. This in-principle approval is required to enable the second, and last stage of detailed development layout and riparian areas to be completed and brought back to DPI Water for final assessment.
Options for 10ha area-set up and maintenance
Costed options were provided for set-up andmaintenance cost for the treatment of the 10ha area.
Avondale Golf Club Threatened Species Supplementary Information for
The purpose of this attachment is to provide threatened species information as part of the biobanking assessment.
Waterway Management Plan
Waterway Management Plan (WMP) involved the survey of waterways and ponds within Pymble Golf Club (PGC), with regards to their individual and collective vegetative condition, health and functionality. Stormwater movement throughout the Golf Club waterways was investigated and assessed and recommendations for management made.
Environmental Management Plan
The Plan included a determination of condition, species composition and management issues for wetlands, waterways and bushland on Mona Vale Golf Course. Environments vary in condition ranging from very deep, eroded creeklines dominated by exotic species, to smaller, slow-flowing waterways vegetated mainly with native species. Recommendations for the management of wetlands and waterways and bushland is provided including case studies of outcomes of similar projects.
Urban Ecology Opportunities Proposed Development 205-225
Redevelopment of the property at 205-225 Euston Rd Sydney provides terrific opportunities for integrating this built form with the adjoining Sydney Park. A set of reports from a variety of expert areas has been created to guide the next stage of detail design for the redevelopment. Upon review of the documents to date the City of Sydney Council has requested an expanded scope in relation to the urban ecology outcomes of the future design including green roofing. Kingfisher Urban Ecology and Wetlands (formerly ECA) has been contracted to provide guidance for the design of urban ecology outcomes such as habitat for fauna (native bees, butterflies, etc) as well as options for green roofing that would facilitate growth of native grasses and herb species (in the green roofing). This report also provides some examples of what could be considered by the architects, who will design the
next stage, by way of urban ecology and bridging the benefits from the building to its surroundings.
Lake Conjola Fauna Outcomes Post Tree Removal
Works
A preclearance fauna survey was undertaken onsite prior to tree removal. Habitat was relocated into neighbouring areas that were to be retained. Ecologists on-site to sign-off on and assist with the implementation of ecological conditions related to the development consent. Ecologists on-site to liaison with Council about ecological issues and changes needed related to the vegetation removal. Reporting on final works for fulfilment of DA conditions.

This report is for the purpose of demonstrating the fulfilment of the requirements under the Part 3A permit for Dardanelles development site at RSL Retirement Village at Collaroy Plateau, and the subsequent return of the associated bond.
Recommendations for Proposed Burns
RSL ANZAC Village and Surrounds
This report provides recommendations to maximise the ecological outcomes of proposed burns in RSL ANZAC Village and surrounding bushland. RSL ANZAC Village is located in the suburb of Narrabeen, on the Northern Beaches region of Sydney. Proposed burns are to be conducted within the bushland areas to the north and west of the Village, some of which lies within Jamieson Park The site has been divided into 13 separate Zones, each of which will have specific recommendations in relation to hazard reduction and ecological burns. Boundaries between each zone have been determined based on physical features such as existing paths, changes in vegetation community/structure/condition, existing fire trails/burn plots, and property boundaries.

Fauna Survey and Habitat assessment at Werrington Reserve – Penrith. To provide baseline fauna survey and habitat assessment data including fauna habitat augmentation recommendations to inform Penrith City Councils pilot habitat box program. Includes the use of anabat, call-play-back, spotlighting as well as identification, and GPS, of habitat actual and potential.
Leichhardt Fauna Survey 2016
Leichhardt Fauna Survey 2016 provides information on how specific wildlife groups and species are using different habitats within the LGA and what management practices could increase the habitat value and aid with conserving the biodiversity of this LGA. Habitat and wildlife surveys took place across 26 parks
and reserves.

Workshops and walks are aiming to offer the community an opportunity to participate in a journey of discovering and enhancing biodiversity throughout 2017. An introduction to connecting to Nature delivered with First Peoples Susan Moylan Coombs other workshops included: Seasons and Cycles, Microbats and habitats, Mandalas, Fungi and Connections, Butterfly Birthplaces, Mindful Connections Bushwalk and Blue Wrens Wildplaces. Bringing tree frogs back into your gardens – a practical workshop. Take a night walk and hear the pips and squeaks through an Anabat (equipment that records the ultrasonic calls of the microbats). Easy to make “urban” microbat homes.

Shore Development Wolli Creek. (2011-2016) Final Report – Ecological Outcomes (for Probuild) and previous six years of work with Frasers Group (Australand at the time) working with the team to achieve integrated outcomes of ecology and built
form through design, artworks and landscape species selection. The key ecological area is the riparian zone albeit narrow. ECA has been involved in this project for over 6 years – from design-phase through, approval processes to final sign-off of implementation of ecological works. Ecological works include:

- Protection of existing Saltmarsh

Ecological Risk Assessment Oyster Shell Filled Bags Sydney Region
ECA was commissioned by Oceanwatch Australia Pty Ltd to provide Ecological Risk Assessment Oyster Shell Filled Bags Sydney Region (2016) as part of the approval process from Land managers, local governments, crown and R & M. Oceanwatch Australia is proposing the trial use of Oyster Shell Filled Coir Bags for the purposes of erosion control and habitat creation along selected foreshore areas within the Sydney region. The project involves broad-scale community education, with community groups engaged in reef building activities. With a strong research focus, scientists from Macquarie University, The University of Sydney & The University of New South Wales are using the project to further our collective understanding of eco-engineering structures in the region.
Georges River Fauna Survey
This report and the associated field based were undertaken to determine Fauna presence along the Georges River including foxes and other feral fauna. Survey monthly over 6 months.
